WE'RE ACCEPTING DONATIONS

Your Chance to Make an Impact

At Purbeck Youth & Community Foundation, we care about our youth and strive to provide them with all the resources they need in order to become successful leaders in their home communities. We are committed to empowering today’s youth to be the leaders of tomorrow - and we couldn’t have got this far without your generous contributions. Donate today, and make the biggest impact on the lives of our community’s youth.

SUPPORTED BY ENTERPRISE LEARNING

We are delighted PYCF is being supported by Enterprise Learning, run by the School for Social Entrepreneurs, in partnership with Access – the Foundation for Social Investment

SHAPING THE LEADERS OF TOMORROW

Our aim is to help and support young people in Purbeck and we have completed our first year managing Wareham Youth and Community Centre and running weekly sessions at Corfe Castle and Wool youth clubs. We provide age-related evening sessions at Wareham - plus lunchtime access for students at the adjacent Purbeck School. We also organise one day trips and residential activities. A Duke of Edinburgh Award group meets fortnightly and the local Gateway Club uses our facilities on a weekly basis.

Most importantly our qualified staff support young people's individual needs and when necessary signpost them to further help on a diverse range of issues. We work in partnership with many agencies who regularly use our premises to meet young people in their environment.  Our members have highlighted the club as somewhere they feel safe, where they can meet friends and make new friends, relax, enjoy themselves and take advantage of new opportunities.

FUND RAISING OPPORTUNITIES

The Foundation is self-sufficient and our biggest challenge is securing funds to meet our commitments. Our fundraising committee works tirelessly to generate the money needed to provide professional staff; purchase equipment and furniture; and cover the cost of running the premises.

NEWS AND UPDATES

Don’t Be the Last to Know!

THANKS TO THE WORSHIPFUL COMPANY OF WEAVERS ....

The Purbeck Youth and Community Foundation opened the building in Wareham 1st Sept 2016 and the Youth club commenced. A grant from the Worshipful Company of Weavers enabled us to employ a Youth and Community lead and that has enabled significant progress. The support again in year two was greatly appreciated. Having this early support has been wonderful and crucial.
We remain committed to qualified workers supporting volunteers to provide services for young people. By providing a safe place, contact with others including trusted adults, and activities we are increasing young people’s wellbeing that can impact into adult life. Over 800 young people have linked with us.
A huge thank you to the Weavers for believing in us and making this all possible.
